On Friday, almost 13 years after its initial release, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace returns to movie theatres only this time in 3D.  If you listen closely, you can hear the collective groans and gripes of Star Wars purists worldwide.  The reason for this sense of dread varies among the fans that you ask.  Some claim the addition of the character, Jar Jar Binks made the film unbearable to watch, while others claim that then nine year-old Jake Lloyd’s portrayal of the boy who would be Darth Vader as wooden, thus nicknaming him Mannequin Skywalker.

Whatever the reason, there are sure to be complaints about the first Star Wars film is rereleased into theaters on Friday.  That will not stop people who happen to enjoy the film or those who are wanting to see it for the first time the way it’s meant to be seen, in a theater.
