Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles?!: Why Michael Bay Needs to Stop Destroying Classics

The internet has been blazing over a statement that director Michael Bay made regarding the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie slated to be released Christmas 2013.  You can see the video here: http://dai.ly/AzBzby.  In the video, he says that the Turtles are from an alien race.  Yes, that’s right, alien race.  After hearing that statement, fans of the Heroes in a Half Shell bombarded the internet with complaints over Bay’s statement.  The outrage over Bay’s involvement was so great that it prompted voice actor, Robbie Rist , who played Michelangelo in the first three Turtles movies to write this statement to Michael Bay:

“You probably don’t know me but I did some voice work on the first set of movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing,” Rist wrote in a message to Bay, according to TMZ. “I know believing in mutated talking turtles is kinda silly to begin with but am I supposed to be led to believe there are ninjas from another planet? The rape of our childhood memories continues…”

Late yesterday evening, Bay wrote a response on his forum page:

“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story,” Bay wrote. “Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Now that the facts have been presented in this firestorm, I want to say this to Paramount Studios, “Remove Michael Bay from the new Turtles movie!!!!”  I speak for all the fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise on this matter.  Bay will ruin this classic like he ruined the Transformers movies.
