A Blogger’s Prespective on Billie Joe Armstrong’s iHeartRadio Music Festival Meltdown

As everyone knows by now, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong went mental onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and now he’s in rehab.  While I was not at the festival itself, I was at MGM Grand Arena that morning while Green Day was doing their rehearsal.  Mind you, I could only hear the rehearsal going on and not see it.  One thing I noticed was an abnormal flow of the rehearsal.  I attributed it to the fact that Green Day are pros when it comes to playing live venues so as long as they get the gist of how each song is going to go, they’re good.  It wasn’t until the next day when I saw the video above that I noticed some similarities from what I heard to what Billie Joe Armstrong did onstage during Green Day’s set.

Looking back on that I wished I would have recorded what I was hearing during that rehearsal because I thought I heard Billie Joe make a comment during that rehearsal on their 30 minute performance as well as Billie Joe stopping midway in a couple of songs.  Knowing what I thought I heard, I thought Billie Joe had planned his “meltdown” as a way to show how punk Green Day still is.  Then when I heard on the news that Billie Joe checked himself into rehab, my earlier conclusion went out the window.  Maybe Billie Joe was drunk or strung out on drugs earlier on Friday during rehearsal.  I cannot say 100% that I had heard things as I previously stated but it is what I thought I heard.  None of that matters in the end though.  What does matter is that Billie Joe Armstrong get better because he is an extremely talented musician.

Music Videos You Have to See: The iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012 Edition

With this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival a little over a month away, I thought I would give a rundown on the artists that will be performing.  The already sold-out festival is boasting an extensive line-up of who’s who in the music industry.   Tickets went on sale on July 14th and sold out in eight minutes. iHeartRadio Music Festival Coming to Las Vegas, September 23 and 24

Yesterday morning, it was announced online and on the local television stations here in Las Vegas that iHeartRadio was bringing their first ever music festival to Las Vegas at the MGM Grand.  This festival promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience with many of the top performers in the music industry.  Already the line-up for the two-day festival is looking like a who’s who in music with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Bruno Mars, Carrie Underwood and many more.   The full lineup so far is here with more being announced throughout the summer.

I am really excited about this because this is as big as the Billboard Music Awards or Grammys.  I emailed the person in charge of press passes in the hope that I will be able to cover this event.  I will keep all of you updated on this.

My Goal

In April of this year, I relocated from the unpredictable climate of Northeast Ohio to the desert climate of Las Vegas, Nevada.  My partner said when we moved to Vegas that we were on a two-year plan.  Two years in Sin City.  My goal when I came here was to become an established and maybe successful pop culture blogger.  That goal would come to fruition at the end of the two years.  So here we are, three months into the two-year plan and I have covered a few pop culture worthy events.  I have also picked up more views on this blog.  Now I have 21 months to go on this journey.  My plans for the duration of this chapter are hopefully covering the just-announced IHeartRadio Music Festival, The Latin Grammys, the Miss America Pageant, and whatever other exciting things come my way in this crazy town.  I am also not disregarding the surprises that come my way; I welcome them.  For those of you who follow me now, I hope that you stick with me throughout this whole experience because you want to see what happens next like me.
